La Peña invites you to relive the extraordinary saga of the Spanish conquerors following the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus in 1492.
This richly detailed exhibition explores the players, the environment, the consequences for local populations and the evolution of the Western world.
Contrary to popular belief, the Conquista was not just a matter of men. It had its heroes, but also its heroines. Marc Arnaud will be talking about these strong and often endearing personalities who, like La Malinche or Iñes Suárez, were able to make their mark in a hostile and violent world.
The town of Coutras invites you to join us on Tuesday 14 November at 6.30pm for the vernissage, and at 8pm for a talk on "Women in the Conquista".
