Who says birthday, says celebrations!


And to celebrate the 20 years of the inscription of the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion to the World Heritage of Humanity, the 28th - 29th and 30th of June will be marked by animations throughout the Jurisdiction for a joyful and popular program.


On the program: Saint-Emilion Fête le Vin, open castles, farmers' markets, free concerts, conferences, Biodiversity and Energy Spaces, philosophical walks and nocturnal wanderings, banquets at the water's edge, street theater scenes, reconstitution from the brand of fire of the vinettier of the Jurade of Saint-Emilion ... a breathtaking program to spend 3 days of exception!





Banquet for the 20th anniversary
A night banquet will be organised to inaugurate the event on the 28th of June on the banks of the Dordogne, also classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. A cheerful spirit, with music.
400 guests on registration - 38 € - Friday 28th of June from 7pm to 11pm



The producer market
Parc Guadet will host a catering area for the public. About twenty restaurateurs will be present to delight the taste buds of young and old in a charming setting. Bandas will provide musical entertainment and a "Saint-Émilion Fête le Vin" stand will be on site (Free admission - Friday: 5pm midnight / Saturday: 11.30am midnight / Sunday: 11.30am midnight)

The great scene
A stage will be set up in the heart of the moat of the Palais Cardinal and will host two free concerts each evening, offered by the Saint-Émilion Jazz Festival.
Free admission - Every evening from 8pm to 11pm

Saint-Émilion celebrates wine
Six tasting areas will be deployed throughout the city to celebrate the Saint-Émilion wine. They will be run by winegrowers and sommeliers and will allow the public to come and taste different wines with the help of a booklet of 7 tastings accompanied by partner offers.
Friday: 5pm midnight / Saturday-Sunday: 11.30am midnight. Free admission for visitors without tasting - Pre-sale tasting pass at 15€ from the end of March to the 1st of May (extensions until the 31st of May 2019 for members, residents and partners) then 17€.

The conferences
A series of conferences related to the cultural landscapes of Saint-Émilion and biodiversity will be organized in partnership with associations of the Juridiction and the Conseil des Vins de Saint-Émilion.

"Between evolution, preservation and transmission: crossed views": round table / debate with representatives of other registered vineyards (guests: Champagne, Bourgogne, Val de Loire, Lavaux, Haut Douro, Tokaj) by the association Juridiction de Saint-Émilion, Patrimoine Mondial de l'Humanité. Saturday 5pm

"The secret life of trees" by Peter Wohlleben by the Biotope Festival association. Sunday 11am
"Heritage and Cultural Heritage" by the Philosophia association. Sunday 2:30 pm
"Terroirs of the world and cultural landscapes" by the association Barde du Label. Sunday 6pm - Free admission

Jurisdiction from the sky
The walls and gates of the gardens of the Saint-Émilion Town Hall will host an exhibition of photos of the winners of the competition organized as part of the Montgolfiades de Saint-Émilion for the 20th anniversary. The awards ceremony will take place during the weekend. Free entrance

The vine maker's fire mark
In the city, troupes of actors in period costume will perform skits to call visitors to follow the ascent of the barrels pulled by a team along Guadet Street. The procession of jurats will be led by musicians, fire-eaters and actors. He will arrive in the Town Hall Gardens where the fire mark will be affixed by a blacksmith. The wine will then be offered to those who have followed the procession.

The relaxation area and the exhibition "sail the wines"
The lawns of Logis de Malet will be transformed into a relaxation area punctuated by acoustic jazz concerts. Inside, the exhibition "Voguent Les Vins, une Histoire Bordelaise" will retrace the great moments in the history of Bordeaux wines.

The medieval square
Many activities will be planned on the square: demonstrations by coopers and blacksmiths, the Rouleurs de Barriques show, classical and medieval concerts, battles between parents and children around the taste workshops...

The artists' corner
The cloister of the collegiate church will host an exhibition of artists in the bays: paintings, drawings, sculptures, engravings, etc.

Children's school
This space will host various activities for children: biodiversity workshops (medicinal plant garden, small gestures for the planet, weaving of the vine...) and tales for children.

The Garden of Energies
This space will host workshops for children around energies such as the construction of mini-wind turbines using solar energy.

Musical walks
A "New Orleans" atmosphere will animate different places of the demonstration: cloisters, streets, town hall gardens, etc.


Aerial games
Kite and boomerang workshops made by children with recycled materials using a 3D printer offered by the Montgolfiades de Saint-Émilion will make you grow wings!

Saint-Émilion lights up!
To close these three exceptional days in style, the jurats in procession will march by torchlight from the Maison Guadet to the Tour du Roy. All eyes will then be turned to the sky to contemplate a magnificent closing firework display.

The castles of the Jurisdiction are invited to open their doors during the whole weekend.

A tasting concert will be organized at Château Monlot to enjoy the wines of Saint-Émilion to music!

An artists' residency at Château Haut-Sarpe will feature works on the theme of 20 years.

A concert will be organized in each church of the Jurisdiction. Each place will vibrate to the sound of choirs, Basque choirs, Corsicans or gospel groups. Free entrance

Saint-Laurent-des-Combes will set up an entertainment centre for young and old in the commune with an animal farm and workshops on recycling and small actions for the environment.
Groups accompanied by guides can walk along various routes.
During the day, philosophical walks will be organized, as well as "Heritage" walks that will allow you to see the Jurisdiction outside the beaten track.
In Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, participants will discover the menhir of Pierrefitte and the history of wine around the river when the most adventurous can join a hike to Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse to learn the secrets of the ancient oppidum of Niort.
