On June 29th, 2019 at 11:00 am, the History and Archaeology Society of Saint-Émilion invites you to a conference with M. Jean Audouze in the Salle des Dominicains de Saint-Emilion.

 

Astrophysicist, director of research emeritus at the CNRS, Honorary President of the French National Commission for UNESCO, President of "Terre de Montaigne".

Three programs constitute the UNESCO World Heritage:

  • the world heritage of cultural and natural properties dating from 1978 to which Saint-Emilion belongs.
  • the international register "Mémoire du monde" created in 1992.
  • the oral and intangible heritage of humanity, which was launched in 1997.


For each of these three programs, he will discuss the registration procedures as well as the place of France in relation to other UNESCO member countries. Lastly, mention will be made of possible future registrations that France could benefit from in the future.
