According to legend, in 1810, the Duke of Chambord fell in love with the natural beauty of this place and built his hunting estate there. Passionate about cockfighting, he named his estate "l'Éperon" in reference to the protruding dewclaw that roosters have.
The image of the rooster, symbol of France, appears on each bottle of wine produced by the château.
Château L'Éperon was completely restored in 1981 when it was acquired by an English aristocrat who made it his principal residence in the last years of his life.
Château L'Éperon was then sold in 2003. The owners will continue the restructuring of the vineyard and will give it its letters of nobility in AOC Bordeaux Superior.
Since 2018, the vineyard is in reasoned culture under the HV3 certification (High Environmental Value - level 3).
We ourselves fell in love with Château L'Éperon and bought it in 2021.
It is a family and friends project, coming from different horizons and countries, that brought us together to allow our dream to become reality.
Our project, through our company "We Love Bordeaux "* opens a new chapter in the history of Château L'Éperon. Its driving force?
OUR PASSION WHICH UNITES OUR FRIENDS
