From 6pm to 9pm, armed with a torch, come and wander along endless rows of bottles and walls, some of which are adorned with sculptures carved directly into the stone. Once you’ve emerged from the cellar, you’ll finally have the immense pleasure of tasting four wines from our estate’s vintages.
Description of the venue:
Located in the very heart of Saint-Émilion, Clos des Menuts boasts superb monolithic medieval cellars. A sense of ‘reverence’ prevails here, conducive to the ageing of these fine wines in oak barrels. To trace the history of Clos des Menuts, we must go back to the year 1538, the date of the first written record attesting to the sale of a barrel of wine by the guild of the Friars Minor (‘Fray Menuts’ in Gascon), religious members of the Order of Saint Francis of Assisi, also known as the Cordeliers (Corde Lies).
