The Dordogne River, the only river in France whose entire basin has been classified as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, with a length of 483 km, takes its source in Puy de Sancy and flows into the estuary of the Gironde.
The Isle, whose tidal effects are felt as far as Coutras, joins it at the confluence of Libourne.
Accompanied by a naturalist guide, we will discuss their geography and history and will have the opportunity to discuss birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects but also fish that inhabit this river.
The walk will end with the tasting tour of Château Barbey-Labory in AOC Fronsac. The property has been in the Trocard family since 1628, making the castle one of the oldest family property in Fronsadais.
