On 24 and 25 October, Puisseguin will be buzzing with excitement for the 25th Heure – Backyard, organised by Les Baroudeurs de Puisseguin. An endurance race where the bravest participants can run for 25 hours. The first race starts on Saturday at 12 noon, for what we hope will be 25 hours of non-stop effort!
The concept behind a Backyard is simple: a 6.70 km loop to be completed in under an hour — otherwise it’s immediate elimination — before setting off again the following hour to complete the same loop. Hour after hour, the number of runners dwindles. The winner is the last person to complete a lap alone, or the one who reaches the 25-hour mark. But there’s no pressure here: everyone comes with their own challenge, whether they run for 1, 5, 16 or 25 hours! Your only opponent is yourself.
