From Saint-Emilion to Cognac

DAY 1 - SAINT-ÉMILION

Meet at the Tourist Office, Place des Créneaux in Saint-Émilion, as soon as you arrive.

10:00 AM - City tour: Saint-Émilion and its underground monuments

Explore the history of the town of Saint-Émilion over the course of 1.5 hours with your guide. Discover the key stages of its development, from its origins to the present day, including a scenic viewpoint and underground monuments such as the Hermitage, the Trinity Chapel, the catacombs, and the monolithic church.

12:30 PM – Lunch at a restaurant (in Saint-Émilion or the surrounding area)

Local cuisine and regional wine for a convivial lunch.

3:00 PM – UNESCO Vineyard Tour and visit to a winery

During a one-hour bus tour through the vineyards, your guide will introduce you to the landscapes designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the region’s châteaux and notable sites. Then, meet a winemaker for a friendly and enriching experience, followed by a tasting.

The guided portion of the day ends at 6:30 PM.

Return to your hotel in Bordeaux or Saint-Émilion. Quote available upon request.

DAY 2 - COGNAC

Meeting point at your accommodation

10:00 AM - Visit to an artisanal cooperage

Discover the secrets of an artisanal cooperage through a comprehensive tour, from the lumber yard to the active workshops. Follow every step of the master coopers’ craftsmanship, from drying the staves to assembling the barrels. Out of respect for the work in progress, photography is not permitted. Tour not available on Fridays.

Prestige option - duration: 2 hours.

11:30 AM – Tour of a vinegar factory and lunch on site.

Go behind the scenes at a vinegar factory and follow the steps involved in making its condiments. The tour concludes with a tasting of vinegars, balsamic vinegars, and soy sauce.

2:00 PM – Tour of an independent estate.

A 2-hour immersive walk through the estate, taking in wash houses, springs, wells, and a stream, with exclusive access to one of the cellars. Sample two exceptional cognacs currently aging directly from the barrel. The tasting then continues in the living room of the family home. Numerous surprises punctuate this exclusive tour.

4:00 PM - Tour of a famous House of Cognac in Jarnac.

Discover an iconic Cognac house through a guided tour that traces the history and expertise of the house. Explore the key stages of cognac production before concluding with a guided tasting of several exceptional selections.

Prestige Option - Tasting of 3 vintage cognacs at the founder’s home, accompanied by savory appetizers (smoked trout), caviar, and chocolate confections.

The guided tour ends today at 7:00 PM. Your guide will accompany you back to your accommodation.
