Carmen is not an Opera!

Carmen is the circus, or at least a piece of its history. Beware, Carmen can sometimes be cynical, melancholic, and crude. But she is a true circus artist, with a memory spanning sixty years, who has seen her world evolve, change, collapse, and then be reborn, more than once. When you enter her big top, you're not going to see Carmen perform, you're entering Carmen's home!

It is through their shared passion for circus history, anecdotes, and extraordinary life stories that Sylvie Delaitre and Jean Charmillot, both circus artists but from different generations, dreamed of creating this show. They champion a human-scale circus and touring in a big top, as the core of their artistic desires.
