Nested in the heart of the village of Saint-Emilion, Couvent des Jacobins has been a family-owned business since 1902. Jean Jean acquired the estate and his great great grandson Xavier is now continuing the tradition of the Grand Cru Classé with a hint of innovation. Thus, it is no surprise that once you enter the doors of Couvent, you head into a time-travel adventure. Couvent des Jacobins was certified in organic farming in fall 2020 ; ethic is a core value for both the owners and the staff.

The numerous experiences offered at Couvent are both original and playful whether you are visiting Saint-Emilion for work or during your vacation. The tours immerge couples, friends or families in the midst of the wine-making philosophy, and transport them on board of a tuk-tuk through the vines, the quarries and the cellars.

  • Discover Couvent invites you to an exclusive private tour of the Couvent des Jacobins, in the heart of the village of Saint-Émilion. Starting with the cloister garden, you will discover the history of the former Dominican convent, which has been the Jean family's wine property since 1902.
  • In the boots of the winemaker leads you on board of a tuk-tuk in the middle of the vines. You will be actively involved in the vines while being taught the various techniques of winemaking : the pruning in the winter, the leave-trimming in the summer andobviously the harvest.
  • The murmurings of Couvent invites you to an exclusive and cosy tasting comparing a young and ancient vintage of Couvent des Jacobins, inside the monolithic cave; after a tuk-tuk tour in the vines.
  • The Trilogy of Couvent leads you from Couvent to the cellar of CALICEM (our 3rd label) with a stop in a selection of our plots. Tasting of 3 wines with a speechless view on the vineyard of Saint-Emilion.
  • Tastings are also available in our boutique wine shop Maison Douze, where you can discover the estate's wines.
