On February 7th, 2019 at 7:30 pm, the History and Archaeology Society of Saint-Émilion invites you to a conference with M. Jean-Pierre Laliman in the Salle Gothique de Saint-Emilion.
Our lecturer, Associate of Classical Letters, taught this subject in Khâgne class, as well as Occitan at the University of Bordeaux. He was also attached to Cairo Embassy and Bucharest. Active retired, he contributed to the republication of texts in Gascon of Abbé Bergey.
The size of the character discovered on this occasion pushes him to continue his research. This work will allow him to present us the aspects of the man returned to the civil life, after having been illustrated as military chaplain during the Great War. The public man, the national destiny: the deputy for two terms, the Catholic fighter in the 30s, the controversial journalist during the Second World war, but also the more intimate man: the priest of Saint-Emilion, the author of Gascon poems.
This conference will present a part of local history, around a major character between very present in the memory of Saint-Émilionnais.
