Clos Fourtet, which belongs to the Cuvelier family since 2001, deploys its vines on 20 hectares made up of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, proudly dominating the famous clay-limestone plateau.
One can not speak of Clos Fourtet without evoking its unique terroir, but also its subterranean cellars of 12 Ha carved in the limestone which provided the noble material to the constructions of Saint-Émilion.
It is in these cellars that the wine continues for 15 to 18 months its aging in oak barrels, stored in the vicinity of the venerable bottles of the reserve of the Chateau.
