Castle and exceptional garden!
Overlooking the river "Dordogne", Vayres is one of the most prestigious castles in our region "Aquitaine".
Classified as a French Historic Monument (Middle Ages, Renaissance, French Classicism). Since the Middle Ages the Vayres Estate belonged to the great Albret family, kings of Navarre (1300 to 1580). Then the estate is inherited by Henri IV, king of France, the most famous of this family. Formal gardens and medieval gardens.
The medieval castle was renovated during the renaissance period and around 1690, and is classified as historic building.
Events with a cultural theme, activities and entertainement for children, during the school holidays.
Award for promotion of the Heritage, and Medal of the Tourism.
Every day from July to mid-September and only on Sundays and Bank Holidays for Easter and All Saints' Day.
